What It Takes to Launch the Next Great Blog, Podcast, or Video Channel

This week, we had some resources for any new, ambitious content-based project you want to get off the ground. (Or one you’d like to push forward in a big way.)

As is our tradition at Copyblogger, the team took time off on Memorial Day to honor the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in military service, and to take time for family, community, and gratitude.

On Tuesday, Brian Clark helped us get out of the overwhelm that comes when we’re launching a new blog — because there’s a lot to think about, and road maps are useful things. (Pro tip: You can use the exact same steps to launch a podcast, a YouTube channel, or any other big content-based project.) He spells out a three-step blueprint for a brilliant blog launch.

One of Brian’s steps is to build relationships with other publishers in your topic — but this can be a giant pile of awkward. On Wednesday, I stepped in with some tips on how to approach the influential folks in your space and build real relationships within your ecosystem.

And while you’re working on those epic goals, you can listen to my Copyblogger FM episode on 7 bad habits of wildly successful people — and see how your own habits line up.

Product of the week: Persuasive Copywriting 101
